Gta 6 leaks reddit 20224/9/2024 ![]() I'm pretty sure this year we'll see the start of 2.1 adoption with a few models having it, I think HP is doing one and Gigabyte is also doing one, as far as I know these 2 are the only ones who have 2.1 ports, hp is not super confirmed but it's a good chance and the gigabyte aorus monitor has it and it having a big boy DP2.1 port is active part of the marketing material, "worlds first" obviously. Being the first monitor running these crazy specs in 2020 it could just have these sorts of issues. It would be great to confirm if my monitor doesn't have any issues with an AMD card. Maybe HDMI 2.1 implementation plays better with nvidia or maybe the newer monitors are just better. So maybe DSC is still happening with HDMI 2.1 for my monitor specs. My monitor is about 90% of 4k, but yes, HDMI 2.1 can also do DSC which would be required for 4k 240hz. People need to be aware of these issues to put pressure on Nvidia to fix them. ![]() This is exactly the kind of thing that will still be a bit buggy years later to convince people to upgrade to the 5000 series. If the monitor has a DP 2.1 port then the problem will be solved when I upgrade.Įdit: Also forgot that you can’t use DLDSR with DSC!Įdit 2: Some issues anecdotally may have been fixed but until it’s gone completely I’m gonna keep making a fuss. ![]() If the driver isn’t fixed then I will still encounter these issues when I upgrade my graphics card to one that supports DP 2.1. These are driver issues that don’t seem that major, but it’s outrageous when I am spending $1200 for a monitor, and already accepting the tradeoffs of burn-in and the DSC compression itself (though I do believe their claims that it’s visually lossless). There’s also some minor flickering issues in some cases. Basically any time you alt-tab you are met with a 3-8 second black screen. Why is there such a delay in adopting DP2.1 across the board for these high-end monitors? Are there technical or logistical hurdles that manufacturers are facing, or is it a matter of market strategy? I'm keen to understand the reasoning behind this seemingly slow transition, especially in a market segment where cutting-edge technology is highly valued. This inconsistency in technology adoption raises questions about the industry's commitment to leveraging the most current standards for optimal performance. To add to the confusion, there are unconfirmed reports and leaks suggesting that upcoming models like the HP QD OLED monitors might include DP2.1 support. This older version necessitates the use of display compression to achieve high Hz/FPS, which seems like a step back given the availability of a more advanced option. Yet, more than a year into the existence of this cutting-edge standard, it's puzzling to see that the latest QD OLED monitors, including the ones announced recently, are still equipped with DisplayPort 1.4. This advancement brought with it the promise of higher frame rates and refresh rates without the need for display compression, a feature particularly beneficial for gaming and professional applications. In March 2022, the world of display technology took a significant leap forward with the release of the DisplayPort 2.0 standard, and shortly after, in October 2022, it was further enhanced to version 2.1.
